Getting Around

Suvarnabhumi International (Bangkok)

Opened in 15 September 2006, The airport is the 5th busiest in Asia handling over 40 million passengers in 2009. The Airport is located 25km (16miles) from downtown Bangkok.

Getting to and from the Airport:

Train:
The Airport Rail Link. There are two services from the Airport, an Express/non-stop service between Suvarnabhumi and Maklasan (interchange for the MRT Blue Line) and a stopping service between Suvarnabhumi and Phaya Thai (interchange for the BTS Sky Train Green Line).

Bus:
There are 4 Express bus services operating to the Airport
AE01 from Silom Road
AE02 from Khao San Road
AE03 from Central World
AH04 Hua Lamphong
A number of local bus services also include Suvarnabhumi on their route. Your Hotel in Bangkok will have details of their local bus services.

Taxi
There is a large taxi rank at the front of the airport that is well signed. The Cost of a taxi to downtown Bangkok are fairly cheap (less than 500 baht mid 2010). To avoid traffic jams, ask the driver to use the motorway/expressway. These are toll roads so be ready to pay the driver the toll money. This can during peak times save up to a hour on your journey. Flat fair Limousines are also available from the airport and can be found on the 2nd level arrivals.


Don Mueang Int

Following the opening of Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Don Mueang Int was first closed and then reopened in 2007 for Domestic Flights only, operating from terminal 3.

Access to the airport is via the Super-Highway and Chiang Mai - Hod Road.

Taxi/Car Hire
The Airport has a Limousine hire and car rental service available. These car be hired from the transport service counter on the first floor.

Phuket International Airport

Thep Kasatri road is the main road connecting the airport and downtown.

Transportation Service Limousine hire and car rental can be found at the Transport Service counter in the arrival hall.

Taxi
A public metered taxi service is available outside arrivals. A Taxi counter is available.

Udon Thani International Airport

Udon Thani International Airport (UTH) is located 7km's from downtown Udon Thani. The Airport currently has domestic and international flights to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Luang Prabang in Laos.
Udon Thani's Airport is located 2 hours drive from the Laos border and is frequently used as a transit point to the Laos capital city, Vientiane, via the Friendship bridge in Nongkhai.

Airport Transfer.
There are 7 flights a day from Bangkok to Udon Thani. Transfer from the Airport to downtown Udon Thani is best by Taxi.
