Practical Guide > About Thailand

Thailand is a tropical Country, so expect it to be hot and humid all year. Temperatures range from 28C to 35C. North Thailand can experience lower temperatures and less humidity than in other parts of Thailand.

Thailand has 3 seasons.

  • November to February is the Cool season. In the south of Thailand there will not be much difference but in North Thailand the Temperatures can drop below 10C

  • March to June is the Hot season with temperatures reaching their highest, getting over 35C and in some parts as high as 40C.

  • July to October is known as the rain season. This sometimes leads to local flooding in parts of the country. During this period most of the country will experience Tropical monsoons that can stop and start with little warning. The rain can help with the humidity. In South East Thailand the Rain season starts November and ends around February
